Following HGV Direct’s recent announcement that they have become the UK distributor of Nord Lock’s new locking wheel nut system for commercial vehicles, the truck parts retailer is now offering customers a solution for the opposite problem. Just as loose wheel nuts can have serious consequences, a seized wheel nut can be a major inconvenience. HGV Direct is now able to supply the Sealey Torque Multiplier. It is designed for removing highly torqued wheel nuts on light commercial vehicles and trucks up to a maximum torque of 3200nm.

Don’t suffer from loose nuts!

In the United Kingdom alone there are up to 400 wheel detachments from heavy trucks every year. Of these, on average, there are 134 accidents involving vehicle/property damage, 27 injuries and up to seven fatalities. The fault rarely lies with the driver or vehicle operator, yet they would be the first port of call for police accident investigators in the event of a wheel loss. HGV Direct Ltd has recently signed an agreement with Nord Lock to supply HGV drivers and haulage companies with their patented locking nuts.
